You wouldn't possibly believe that I could skip a brewery, except this is not a brewery, but a place that serves local beers and typical casual fast food. It's located next to The Great American Bagel Bakery. Carolina Beer Co. is decorated with nine wooden oak barrels over the bar area, showcasing local brews. Carolina Beer Co. serves The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery beer (OMB), made according to German purity standard of 1516 (the Reinheitsgebot), with no additives or preservatives. Olde Mecklenburg Copper, brewed locally in Charlotte, is famous for authentic Düsseldorf style Altbier. However, the place looked too untidy to make one want to patronize here. Food, which I didn't order, was not enticing to give it a try. BBQ chicken smothered platter: 2 chicken breasts, honey smoked BBQ sauce, applewood bacon, melted cheddar, diced tomatoes, green onions, baked beans and Cole slaw sides. BBQ pork platter: pulled pork, honey smoked BBQ sauce, baked beans and Cole slaw sides. A la carte: small side salad, fruit salad, cup of soup, house made chips. Desserts: key lime pie, chocolate molten cake, ice cream with blueberries. Omelettes: western, ham & cheese, veggie, savory cheese. For breakfast: Classic scramble eggs, grilled sourdough panini, quesadilla, yogurt & granola.
