Not great.
The salon was nicely appointed and very clean, but the gentleman who saw me clearly had no idea what he was doing.
He didn't ask me any preferences and just continued doing whatever he was doing when I tried to volunteer what I wanted - shape, length, etc.
He just kept saying yes or nodding when I would ask a question - it made me very uncomfortable bc I started to feel kind of rude when I kept asking for very basic manicure details and he just kept saying ok and continuing to do what he was doing. Round nails instead of squared off is not a special request.
I finally had to just demonstrate what I wanted on one nail, at which point he asked someone for help. The other staff member explained it to him, but three or four times while he was trimming my cuticles he kept shaking his head like it was not a good idea or something. When I asked the other associate if everything was okay she just said that it's not good to trim your cuticles because it's bad for your nails. Well, that's new to me - and every other nail tech I've ever seen.
His technical skill was also lacking. My nails are a disaster. He sort of blobbed the polish on instead of using the brush to paint strokes.
I went in for a very basic treatment. I wanted my nails and cuticles trimmed and a coat of polish. That's it. There was no wait and they sat me down immediately, but it took him an hour and fifteen minutes.
I came home and finished my cuticles myself and was about to remove the awful mess that is supposed to be nail polish when my husband told to sleep on it and just ask them to redo it.
So I might go in and ask them if someone else can just redo the polish.
We'll see, hopefully, this was a fluke.
