I'm ashamed that I haven't written a review on Hula's yet as it's one of my favorite places to dine when I visit Phoenix.
Being from Boston, I can safely say we have nothing like this. Not even close. So eating food with a Hawaiian and Polynesian flair is such a nice change from chowdah.
First of all, the place has as cool, open vibe with an outdoor patio and firepit. The service has always been excellent and the staff super friendly.
However, the real winner is their food. Everything I have tried has been excellent. From the spicy edamame (bring your tissues), to the johnny cakes, to the jerk chicken and mongolian beef bowls and fish tacos, it's all outstanding. Their flavors work so well together, and everything is cooked to perfection. I have never had a meal I didn't savor.
I come to Phoenix every few months for work and always try to make this place a stop. Love it!
