Gaucho had been on my radar since they first opened,however, I was unable to visit until recently on a trip back to my hometown to visit my family. My mom and I stopped by on a Friday around 12:30pm. The line was relatively short at this time , but by the time we left it was out the door and around the block. When you finally make it past the front door, you are met with a chalkboard featuring the menu-all of which made me salivate while reading it.
My mom and I, after a few questions about the menu to the lovely cashier, decided to split the Rosemary braised beef sandwich with carmelized onions and horsey sauce. The beef was perfectly seasoned and quite tender. The carmelized onions added a nice sweetness complemented by the kick from the horsey sauce. They have sauces you can choose from and I highly recommend the garlic as it went well with this sandwich. The bread was fresh and was a stealthy vessel for the beef. We also split a side of mushrooms with shallots and rosemary. While these were excellent on their own, I'd recommend adding them to the braised beef for extra flavor. Gaucho is BYOB and I noticed several tables, even on a Friday afternoon, taking advantage of this. We both got Diet Coke and never experienced less than half full glasses. Service was top notch and we were checked on a couple of times throughout our meal. I definitely buy into the hype here and would absolutely return on my next trip back to the Burgh!
