I was a Williams and Drake patient for about a year. Their offices are nice, the cleanings hurt more than the average cleaning but it was fine for me because I didn't have any problems. They told my husband that he needed a double crown due to loss of tooth structure. He paid $850 out of pocket, and the insurance company was supposed to pay the other half. We received a notice that the insurance company had a dental expert look at his x-rays and that he didn't need any crowns at all. When we appealed, we received a notice that they had a second dental expert look at the x-rays, and while they didn't think he needed anything, they would cover a small amount and we received a bill from Williams and Drake with the amount due highlighted in orange. I could have taken a vacation for the money that we spent on a double crown that my husband DID NOT EVEN NEED. When I called, the girl on the phone acted as if she could not be bothered with me, told me that if they had just filled the teeth, the fillings would have fallen out within a year. I'm not sure what kind of fillings they are using, but I'm pretty sure fillings shouldn't fall out in a year. Anyways, when I questioned further, she said "look, I don't know what you want me to say, if you want to switch dentists, I understand". Another side note, this was at the end of the year he got these crowns, Dr. Drake told my husband if he got the crowns before the end of the year, he would give both him and I free teeth whitening. The teeth whitening never happened after he got the crown, but the fact that he was strongly trying to influence him with free things like that seems shady. This practice is NOT trustworthy, and you cannot believe them when they say you need something. I would strongly advise people to stay away from Dr. Drake's practice.
