Made an internet reservation at Firefly Car Rental in Scottsdale, Az. for a cheap rental only, no additional insurance needed. After flying all night, the attendant/ supervisor informed me that I could NOT rent any car from his office without a basic insurance rider. I told him I did not want any insurance and he told me that I could try and rent from his competitor. I agreed reluctantly and rented the car. The car was fine. I believe that this attendant/ supervisor is an unscrupulous person who coerces people to agree to buy additional insurance
I tried appealing the insurance rider later on two separate occasions and their best offer was a $50 voucher.
I would not recommend the Firefly Car Rental, Scottsdale, Az.
Be aware that Hertz is the parent company and Thrifty and Dollar are under the same umbrella as Firefly to create the illusion of competition.
