After incurring sufficient gambling losses, getting the lunch combo seemed like the smart choice. Too bad it wasn't. I had the beef teriyaki and sashimi combo. While you get a good amount of food for the price, the quality was lacking. The meat was too chewy and gristley. The sashimi was OK and nothing spectacular to rave about. However, the a-la-carte items were phenomenal. My friend ordered the premium homemade tofu three ways, one with black truffle, one with caviar and lemon oil, and the last with scallion and sesame oil. Tofu was silky and smooth and almost hard to grab with your chopsticks as it would break into pieces when you grabbed a hold of it. I ordered the chicken karaage with cilantro mayo. I enjoyed the light crispy coating surrounding the meaty pieces of chicken. The cilantro mayo was a nice condiment but I didn't notice the flavor of the cilantro too much despite the light green color of the mayo. Service was good, except for the server for getting my order of Sprite so I had to ask for it again. At least she came by later and gave me a refill when I didn't ask for one. Lesson learned this time, Sushi Roku. I'll be back to try more of your delicious a-la-carte items. Hopefully with more money to spend.
