I went to Rainsprings Dental Group for a new patient exam, but decided to go for a second opinion once I heard my treatment plan and copays. First of all, I used to be a dental assistant for five years, so I know the approximate prices of procedures, and when quoted with the price of my fillings, even with my insurance, I thought they were unusually high. I decided to get a second opinion, and for the same exact fillings, I ended up paying $88.00, versus almost $400.00 which is what Rainsprings quoted me. Needless to say, I am glad I compared prices, because I don't understand how such simple fillings could cost so much money using the same insurance at one office versus another. Also when it came to my cleaning, at Rainsprings I was told that I needed to have deep cleanings for all 4 quadrants of my mouth. Being that I worked in dental offices for five years, and my sister is also a dental hygienist, I didn't really believe that this was accurate. So yet again, when I decided to make the drive to an office that I have gone to in the past for a second opinion, it turns out I just needed a basic cleaning, which saved me over $700 more dollars. It is very rare that I will actually take the time to go out of my way to write a bad review, but I was obviously extremely upset about the way that I felt I was being ripped off by Rainsprings Dental Group. What I can say positive is that everyone in the office was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable, but the bottom line is I think that they are taking advantage of people when it comes down to what they are charging even with insurance, and diagnosing something that may not be necessarily needed just because it is going to bring in more money for the office.
