Heel-to-Toe is a great store for quality footwear. The staff is the most knowledgeable I have met (kudos to Dan for the complimentary consultation, and to Van for immediately spotting - and correcting - my ankle issue). The store is easy to find in downtown Urbana, and the inside layout is logically organized. The selection was great, and I found both a New Balance (personal favorite brand for my wide feet) boot and a separate pair of sneakers. Dan recommended a removable custom insert, which felt great. As I mentioned above, Van put a small triangular insert near my heal, which corrected a longstanding deformed ankle. This kind of quality service is vanishingly difficult to find in today's evolving markets. My experience at Heel-to-Toe was a refreshing change to what you find at the usual big-box stores. N.B. I find that one can never quite trust the internet - there are loads of counterfeit goods (including shoes) on amazon, for example. It was nice to know I was getting the actual item. Also, it beats the pants off internet shoe-shopping to actually get to try on the shoes, and know that they fit. The staff's advice alone was worth the visit; I was very happy to get it for free!
