Going Out With a Whimper. This restaurant used to the the state of the art in fine dining. Not anymore. We had the misfortune of eating there on their supposed last night before they open their new restaurant in Phoenix. A bunch of who have been dining there regularly for the last 10 years went to celebrate and wish them luck. We were treated to a bunch of tables back by the employees rest room and and only offered the tasting menus. My wife and I ordered the tasting menus, she the small, mine the large. After an initial offering of old chilled melon, it took almost two hours for my wife to get any additional food. No sense of timing between tasting; the wine pairings were screwed up. I pulled our waiter aside to tell him of our dissatisfaction - we were ignored. We finally walked out. I waited 10 minutes to settle my bill. Both owners were there. No acknowledgement or apology for the poor service and food. Obviously they can't wait to close and get out of Cave Creek. We will not be following them to Phoenix.
