Dr. Fitzmaurice is an amazing surgeon. He cured my husband's debilitating thumb pain caused by De Quervain's tenosynovitis, and for that we are extremely thankful. He is now able to work & carry our toddler without pain. Scheduling was quick & painless, the office was clean, and the staff was very kind. The one star that I've knocked off is for the billing department (which I truly believe deserves 1 star!) After my husband's surgery, the billing was transparent and accurate. The issue was that we set up a plan to pay off the total amount of the surgery. We elected to have payments automatically withdrawn, and they were for one month, and then randomly stopped. I tried calling (no exaggerating) at least once a day for about a month. I left voicemails, urgent messages with the scheduling department, etc. NOTHING! Finally, they called back and apologized, letting me know that during their office move, some of the payment plans had fallen through the cracks and patients needed to realize this themselves and call to fix it, as they didn't have a roster of patients who were effected. I reinstated our payment plan, and, much to my surprise, yet again our payments stopped coming out. Again, another month of calling with no response, and I finally told them I wasn't hanging up until this was fixed. The scheduling department even tried to call the billing department and was unable to get ahold of them, and all they could do was leave an urgent note. The next day, our payment had been taken out of our account finally (on a day that we had NOT agreed on, but I'll take it), and the billing department still has not called me to this day. This caused a lot of unneeded stress, worry, & anxiety. We would use Dr. Fitzmaurice again, but I truly hope some training or constructive feedback will be relayed to the billing department, as this is unacceptable.
