My favorite place to get a haircut when I am uptown... I live about 30 minutes from The Cut Barbershop so whenever I am in the area and need a haircut... I stop by. Growing up in a household where a good haircut was a must-have, I still make sure that a place is properly vetted before I sit down in the chair. My wife used to care for the owner's daughter and, once she heard I enjoy a good hair cut, gave me a gift card to come down and try it out. Extremely glad that she did. Before visiting, my first thought was this was a "hair cutting mill." Yaknow, the type of shop that pumps clients through the chairs as fast as they can and asks you # from the menu you want. Whelp. I was ridiculously, and embarrassingly, wrong. The Cut has a great vibe with sofas and comfortable seating in the waiting area, music playing... and booze. I don't get a haircut or buy a mattress from anyone who doesn't offer me a drink first. It is just a rule that I have. I have been hear about 5 times and each time the experience has been great. A great cut, a decent price and good people in the shop. A quick, yet higher end, type of place so don't expect a $12 haircut. I am the guy that never even attempts to make an appointment. If you are like me, expect to wait a few minutes. Otherwise, man up and go online to book yourself. They are popular so set yourself up for success and don't get frustrated if you have to wait. Check them out... and remember that the key to a good haircut is good communication with your barber/stylist. Reviews can be all rainbows and pots of gold but if don't communicate with the person holding scissors to your head, you are probably not going to enjoy the experience.
