Never in a million years did I think I would be writing a review for a concrete company, but when a company goes above and beyond and delivers upon each and every expectation with excellent customer service from start to finish, I feel as though I wouldn't be doing them justice if I didn't take the time to do a writeup, even if concrete services are one of those most of us never think about...until of course we actually need someone to do some concrete work and realize we have no idea where to even start the search.
From the time I contacted Jack at SMI about some work I needed done on my driveway, he was very personable and professional, and took the time to explain the work in easy to understand terms without being condescending. He was great about communicating over email (same day responses) and always took the time to answer any questions I had about the work. Based on my description of the project, he provided me an initial estimate via email and then followed up to check out my driveway in-person to do measurements, etc. Every step in the process, he was very transparent with regard to cost, timing, etc.
His estimate was very fair but the main reason I went with his company was because of the excellent customer service from start to finish, as it is always important for me to feel comfortable with the person who will be working on my home, and not just go with whoever may offer the cheapest price, as I am sure we have all had experiences where saving a few bucks ended up causing headaches that far outweighed any savings we may have experienced on the front end.
Before starting the job, Jack and his brother Andrew actually let me know that they were working on a job in the vicinity of my home and therefore could offer me a discount on my job, since they were already in the area with materials and supplies on hand. Again, this is a great example of the transparency demonstrated by SMI Paving, as these guys are straight up guys who actually want to do everything they can to satisfy their customers.
The work was started and completed the same day (actually earlier than projected) and the work was A+ all the way around. The driveway has never looked better and the guys did a great job of ensuring a smooth finish which isn't always easy with driveway repairs. Before leaving, they provided me with a written guarantee and a cell phone contact number if I had any questions or issues. Again, great example of superior customer service, and I will definitely recommend SMI Paving to anyone who needs work done on their driveway, patio, etc, as these guys actually turned a difficult project into a pleasant experience and as a result, it is with great pleasure that I welcome them into the 5-star club.
