I just recently moved to the Heights, and living in close proximity to the Stone Oven is one of my favorite things about my new neighborhood. I have been trying new things each time I go--a couple times a week--and each one is so delicious and satisfying. Also, I think their prices are totally responsible in the vein of what's "artisan." Most days I get an iced latte (the best I've ever had-caramely, creamy, not too sweet), and either a breakfast pastry (the poppyseed tea biscuits are so moist and flaky at the same time, and the nutella crossants, and the little quiche tarts...and!), or a salad (the "John's" chef is my favorite) or sandwich (you must try the curried chicken salad with raisins--amazing), and they all impress and spoil me for other lunch spots! Also, their bread is quality and affordable--especially love the multigrain (they nailed it, and it freezes well) and the kalamata olive. Lastly, the owners and the people who work there seem to balance caring a lot about their customers and the product while not taking themselves too seriously. (some artisan bread places feel like a Portlandia skit-not this one). Thanks, neighbors, you guys are the best!
