I'd been meaning to visit Whisky Café my last two or three trips to Montreal, and finally made it during a bachelor party, of all things. Whisky Café is widely regarded as the best cigar bar in Montreal, so it seemed perfectly appropriate for the guy's night out. The atmosphere is elegant, with a large open lounge and a long bar. There is a large glass display across from the bar with an impressive display of liquor bottles. I was disappointed, however, that the separate cigar bar was relatively small - the room is long and narrow and there aren't more than a couple dozen seats. The bar menu is extensive, with a very wide selection of Scotch, whisky, and liquors and a respectable wine list. They offer various flights and tasting, food and wine/spirit pairings and a 'happy hour' that is apparently well known throughout the city. I didn't try any of the food, but the menu seems to be limited to aperitifs - foie gras, smoked salmon, cheeses & chocolates. Service was absolutely excellent. The waiter was very knowledgeable, attentive, and was able to make excellent suggestions. I also noticed that he took into consideration the level of experience of the person he was serving - he didn't try to sell anything particularly exotic or expensive to those who weren't regular Scotch drinkers or cigar smokers, but was able to make some very unique and sophisticated recommendations for those who were. Among the 10 of us we put away a dozen cigars, several bottles of wine and at least two glasses of Scotch each. The bill was atrocious (the only downside to this establishment, in my opinion), but you get what you pay for. I'll be back every time I'm in Montreal. Also, I have to mention the bathroom - the men's restroom has a beautiful waterfall urinal, and a traditional john for those with stage fright.
