It is a cirque du soleil show so I can't blame the gymnasts/acrobats for not being able to perfectly mimic MJ's dance moves. They tried and it looked clunky at best. I understand that being anything close to MJ is a tall order, much less in an acrobatics setting. And speaking of acrobatics, there was hardly any synergy between the songs and the acrobatic routines. Once again, just tough to strike the right balance. I liked the lineup of songs. It started off with "Beat It" to kick things off with energy, and proceeded with a string of 12-14 hit songs. The visual effects and lighting were nice. I was particularly impressed with their rendition of "Billy Jean"..the visuals for that were amazing. Some of the songs had MJ's actual video footage projected on the background which brought some sadness/nostalgia. When the show ended, I realized that 1, this is a decent show but I yearned for a true Michael Jackson concert which is impossible at this point, and 2. a decent show should not cost as much as $175 per person. The hit to my wallet is what brings this down another notch. Vegas shows demand a premium and I was more than glad to pay what I did for the Phantom of the Opera (years ago) and Le Reve. Michael Jackson One did not feel worth the price of admission. Just my two cents.
