We have yet to experience the service provided, just getting and keeping the appointment has been a horrible process. Firstly, no one answers the phone. Everything is sent to voicemail. Getting someone to call back to schedule an evaluation took 2 weeks. This is after we were given a referral from our pediatrician. The first available was 3 months out. Being an informed consumer, I wanted to know the cost upfront; I have been burned many times by providers dropping outrageous charges the day of service. Melmed called back with the amount that will be due after several more calls to the voicemail abyss. Then, two weeks before the appointment, a letter arrives--you must confirm three days before appointment or it will be canceled. More unanswered calls to confirm and voicemails left. A nice lady called back and claimed the computers were not working and confirmed appointment. The next day two more calls and two more confirmations given. Then, at 6 pm, during dinner, another call came. This was an automated message stating that it was a final attempt to confirm appointment and it would be canceled if I did not confirm by 8 am the next day. Once more, no human to be had. I left my final voicemail for an office manager to call me promptly tomorrow. I want to put this nonsense to an end. This is no way to run a practice. Utterly unprofessional. Should I expect the same from the Doctors? I am sure they are quick to bill, but would they be bothered with patient-parent communication? Update I got a callback today and the lady apologized in a sincere manner. I truly hope that go forward they live up to the standards they claim to have.
