Wanted to pass along my experience. I recently placed my car for sale on Auto Trader. I received a call from Bennet who told me that their GM was interested in purchasing my car. I informed them it was a salvage title and was told that they were interested in making an offer and to come down to the dealership.
When I drove down there the inspected the auto but advised me in the mean time they wanted to show me their inventory. I had time to pass so I viewed one of their trucks. After I was finished they brought me back in and then attempted to sell me the auto. I informed them that I was simply seeking to sell my auto and that was what I was told on the phone and the ENTIRE REASON I drove down there. The sales person told me they had no interest in the car to begin with and only wanted me to come look at their inventory. I asked why I was told they wanted to BUY my auto and their response verbatim, "well are you interested in buying the car you just saw?"
Umm that does not answer my question about being lied to. I decided to bite my tongue and leave with a smile as there was no sense in having a conversation any further. Jack was my sales person and Bennet was the person who called me,
