I'm usually very easy going when it comes to hotel rooms because honestly, who goes on vacation and spends the majority of their time in there? Of course, there are exceptions, but for a city like Toronto, you'd want to go out an explore.
Cambridge Suites Hotel is located within walking distance to Eaton Centre, which is a mini Times Square. There's flashy lights, performers, shopping and places to eat. I chose this hotel based on location, but honestly you don't need more than 1 night for Eaton Centre.
The size of the rooms are very spacious. You have the living room with a pull out sofa bed and the room with sliding doors. The toilet and shower are separate from the powder room so there's plenty of space to get ready for your day. (tons of counter space)
The whirl pool, sauna and gym on the 22nd floor looked as if it were newly renovated. Everything felt quite new and kept very clean. I would have spent more time in the whirl pool if the chlorine wasn't so strong. My skin is sensitive so that may not be the case with others.
Now, the things that didn't go so well...
The water pressure was terrible. It was already weak to begin with, but on the 2nd last night the shower head just basically just dribbling water down. I had to use the facet to wash my hair. I didn't bother changing rooms or asking anyone to fix it since I had a really early meeting the next day. I needed all the sleep I possibly can.
Speaking of sleep, if you're a light sleeper it may be best not to stay at this hotel. The windows weren't very soundproof and I woke up a few times in the night from the cars outside. I'm actually a heavy sleeper, but I still woke up.
The iron was leaking so the ironing board was soaked by the time I finished ironing my suits.
And the last thing I should mention is that the service was excellent during check in, but check out was a different story. The guy was rude, didn't look us in the eye and gave us one word answers. Basically, the attitude was just "stop bothering me and go away already."
Even though we had some set backs, we still had a great time in Toronto. We'll know not to stay here next time.
