Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sofitel Montreal. The location is very good: walking distance to the McGill University campus (a nice area for a casual stroll), Mount Royal (a must see), and the Montreal Museum of Arts (another must see). The staff were very polite and professional. The property and rooms were clean and well-maintained. Easy valet parking. Would probably stay there again. However... 1) The rooms are fairly small. We stayed in a junior suite, and i think it was the smallest suite I have ever stayed in. The bathroom was fairly spacious though and had all the necessities one would expect in a top tier hotel. 2) Unless you get a top floor, the view may be underwhelming. Our suite (6th floor) was supposed to face Mount Royal, but, frankly, all we could see were the neighboring buildings (and a tiny glimpse of the park). 3) The fitness facility is quite small. I was expecting more from a hotel of this class. But we did enjoy our stay and liked the location. And, yes, they are a VERY dog friendly hotel!
