We moved into this apartment October 2014 and if work was not taking us out of state we would have renewed our lease. We have enjoyed our apartment and living at Colores Del Sol. I will organize my review into pros and cons.
Pros:
Great location and price
Community is safe and well-kept (especially for the area)
Apartment was spacious and in good condition (for the age)
Maintenance were responsive, friendly, and professional; they are around property and always pleasant
Samantha in the office is a super-star, made a point to work with her for anything we needed
Pet-friendly, a lot of green spaces which is unique in Arizona
Exercise room is small but rarely in use and provides enough for casual gym goers
Plenty of parking, only ever had a problem when they were resurfacing the lot
Recycling available
Cons:
The quality of the apartment you receive will be determined by the previous tenant
The cabinets and fixtures are original to the apartment (but in fair-good working order)
Office hours are super restrictive if you work an 8-5pm
Due to the rains and seasons we had a month of bugs (End of Aug-September) they offer pest control for free as often as you want but if you are on the ground floor you will see them.
During the heavy rains parking lots did flood (this is a Mesa problem in general)
There is one area of the complex that maintenance has trouble keeping clean from kid and pet waste
Overall, if you are on a budget and looking for a serviceable place for an excellent price that has a staff that really takes care of the property I recommend this one. There are a decent number of families and kids in the complex, they are always outside and playing, if you are adverse to children I would recommend staying away.
