Did not receive a warm welcome in the Goathland Hotel or Aidensfield Arms Pub. What a shame as the potential is amazing. All the references to Heartbeat could make this a gem, but when we visited on Saturday evening, we were the only ones in. One for the hotel inspector! Toilet seat broken in both toilets, kids told to sit in an old fashioned dining room termed the 'family room'. Decor like my grannies some years ago. Grumpy landlord. Oh where to begin..? Goathland well worth a visit for half an hour or so to see the Heartbeat garage, old Ford Anglia Police car and village stores.
