Velveteen is one of the better cocktail bars off the strip. They have about 5-10 specialty cocktails, but the bartenders are great and can make just about anything. The vibe of the place is cool too. It has an old school, burlesque thing going with a DJ and cool TV playing in the background and a loungy feel to the seats. It is in a perfect location on Main St. for a quick drink. The prices are very solid for a Vegas downtown outing as well. I had one of their cocktails, ordered off the menu, for $9. It was strong, tasty, and worth every penny. I recommend Velveteen Rabbit if you're in the area. The clientele looked a little older, and professional, but overall I would recommend this place to anyone interested in a nice cocktail on this side of town.
