I ordered a special cake for my Aunt's birthday last week. I was trying to duplicate an Italian cake that our family always ordered in Akron, OH. I gave Natalia the basis for the Italian torte cake, including the type of icing, and it came out perfectly!!! It tasted just like the Italian wedding cake we can get back home. The whole family was so happy to have a little taste of home out here in AZ.
I'm surprised to read KC's review. I had nothing but pleasant interactions with both Natalia (the wife) and her husband. Because I was ordering a "custom" cake, I did type up exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it and how I wanted it decorated. Maybe putting it in writing helped? I'm not sure. I realize it shouldn't be necessary to do that, but I wanted to be certain there was no confusion over my order.
I will definitely be patronizing this bakery again. Oh, and the shop is filled with beautiful examples of the cakes they make.
