I'm super psyched about this haircut, and this will be my haircut place forever more. The reasons are: 1) so, I brought in some photos. The hairdresser really honored the photos, not just paying them lip-service, and understood not only what the photos said about how I wanted my hair cut, but how to alter the cut to fit my specific head. 2) the cut was very flexible and fluid: there was clearly a plan and an understanding of my hair type and face shape, but I felt that the hairdresser was very responsive to my suggestions about what to texture, what to make shorter, what to leave long, etc. It was very much done to my specifications. 3) The hairdresser was very friendly and kind, and we had a good conversation. 4) Many different tools were used: the mark of a good haircut, in my opinion. Razorblades, electric razor, pinking shear-type scissors, special scissors to get the texture just so. The end result was between a pixie and a bob (as I wanted), with a great, well-textured back, and lots of tendrils and interesting details. I have had so many terrible haircuts in Montreal over the years - ranging from a bowl cut to something that made me look like a Russian mail-order bride - and I'm happy to finally find a place that works for me. I'll be back for sure.
