Hi, I just got back from lunch at the Liberty Village location with 7 of my co-workers from a business in the area. Some of us wanted to try summerlicious menu and some had never been to Origin so wanted to try the regular menu. The start of service was great, our waiter took our drink orders, answered any questions I had about the menu while we waited for the rest of the group to show up. When the other members showed up he took their drink orders and they showed up promptly as well. We then proceeded to order from the summerlicious menu and 2 people decided to order from the regular menu. This was at 1pm. The apps showed up in a timely manner for everyone and the 2 that order from the regular menu got their meals timely (1:20) as well so the rest of us figured ours should be coming shortly. NOPE....we had to wait another 20 minutes. Seeing as this was a lunch break and most of us only have an hour and given that the restaurant wasn't busy we assumed it should not have taken this long. When we informed the waitress, she argued that we should have told her we were in a rush so that they can prepare the meals quicker...why this should matter? I don't know. This conversation went on for a couple minutes before we just told her to get us the bill and to wrap our food as most of us had to be back by 2pm by this time it was already 1:50. Her argument was that because it's summerlicious meals do take longer...Ok, fine but they should've told us this before we ordered and why does it take longer? The restaurant maybe had 30 people MAX. Should the food not come in a timely matter regardless? Is it normal to have people wait 45 minutes for lunch without anyone coming over to tell us the kitchen was running behind? I'm not really one to rant but because I want to like Origin and want you guys to succeed in the neighbourhood.
