Over the years I have spent less and less time in the touristy downtown area of Montreal's Rue Crescent and Ste. Catherine Street preferring the lesser known and frequented areas of the city. If you are new to Montreal you certainly want to walk Crescent street which is akin to Bourbon St. in New Orleans...well almost. My desire to return to Churchill's is simple, they make a very good Caesar salad, better than most, in fact, that is what I ordered and I was not disappointed in the least. The salad was followed by their chicken wings and fries with two dipping sauces, again that too was very good. If you prefer to dine outside there is a terrace above the street which is very pleasant and affords you the opportunity to observe the activity on Crescent street below. Late evening can be very intense and jammed packed with folks wanting to listen to the bands and or dance. All in all Churhill's will remain on my menu as long as the Caesar Salad remains on theirs.
