In shock that "Choice Home Warranty" can get away with this!
"Choice Home Warranty" Is A Fraud.
We bought the extra warranty for our pool equipment. Our pool heater stopped working almost 3 weeks ago. "Choice" sent a pool guy out and he told me that it was a fairly easy fix, around $400.00 and he'd get the parts and see me in a day or two. He never came back and will not return my calls.
I called "Choice" and they said our heater is bent and that it is not covered. I told them that the heater was not bent and i would send photos immediately to show t looks almost new with no dents, i also told them that the repair guy said nothing of something being bent and that he left me a copy of what was wrong with our heater. "Choice Home Warranty"" right away said he was a lier and that our invoice and theirs were different.
After i plead my case that either they or their pool repair guy were a liar and that this was not my fault they still refused to do the repair. After arguing "Choice Home Warranty" agreed and instructed me to get my own guy and that if he did not find the same problem that hey would pay him to repair our pool heater.
The pool guy i called out(who i do not know) did not find the the same problem or find any bends. He said the heater needed to be replaced as repairs would cost around the same price. When this pool guy called them "Choice Home Warranty" , they harassed him and were unpleasant. He has been paid $00. He told me that "Choice Home Warranty" were discussing and would call me. I've tried calling them three times now to get things going, its been 3 weeks now.
"Choice Home Warranty" is not returning our calls. We are shocked to say the least. This must be fraud and against the law right?
FOLLOW UP:
They finally answered on my fourth try and spoke to me. They said they believe their guy and not the guy I got. They said they will not cover the problem.
After the call I got to thinking why have a warranty if they can lie to me and pretty much say tough luck what are you going to do about it. So I decided to cancel the policy and get a partial refund for the remaining 5 months of our 12 month policy, so I call them back. After speaking with two different people they say my name is not the policy holder or the person that signed up even if the address is the same therefore I can't cancel the policy my wife has to.
So I call my wife and ask her to please take care of canceling. She calls "Choice HomeWarranty" and after making her tell our story one more time they tell her that although she has 5 months left and she has never used the policy prior that her refund will be $5.00, yes there are no zeros missing on that figure, $5.00!
Can you believe this, my story is almost unbelievable.but this is the truth and the facts of this story. It's sad that a company can treat someone this way.
Absolutely the worst treatment I've ever received from any company.
