I've never really been a fan of normal tapioca because I was never quite sure what they were made of and was kind of disgusted by its black oozy liquid (heard rumors tapioca was made of rubber or plastic lol)
However, I've recently discovered OneZo Tapioca while I was strolling Yonge and Finch and discovered their freshly made and multi-flavored tapiocas. I watched from the window as they rolled the dough and put it in a machine that pressed them into little balls, and then cooked them in different flavors. (safe to say these tapiocas AREN'T made of plastic or rubber:'))
Yes, the difference in flavor between some tapiocas are subtle, but I think a stronger flavor may overpower the taste of the tea. (Also the lady told me the tapioca flavors are made of real fruit essence so the taste may be more subtle than artificially made flavors) The sesame and caramel tapioca probably have the most prominent flavor, as well as their new brown sugar tapioca.
I've actually tried most of their drinks, and I'd say my personal favorites are definitely the original OneZo Tapioca Milk Tea, the Nature Melon Lemon, and the Mango NiuNiu Smoothie. I have a sweet tooth so I'd usually get 80% sugar for milk tea. The Nature Melon Lemon is also quite sweet -- kinda tastes like iced tea? And I love all smoothies so ya ALSO all their lattes are really pretty; they're layered with two separate colors and some have tapioca too!
The only other thing I'd like to mention is that OneZo is slightly less sweet than other bbt places like Chatime or Coco, so if you have a sweet tooth like me, you should probably order 80 or 100% sugar:)
