There are bakeries. There are Jewish bakeries. And then there's Prantl's. Every year we come to Pittsburgh for the CMU Tech Fair and every year I crave burned almond torte. I usually don't like almonds. I live among people with allergies. But heck, once a year I really indulge. Why?
It is. Absolutely. To.Die.For. Where have you been all my life? Why can't you deliver to DC? I dream about that cake every year. It is so light, so moist. It was better than my wedding cake (gasp!)
Overall, worth a trip every time. I don't even mind the crappy parking and the wait.
