I've been here a few times with a friend who keeps a boat at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club. This Christmas year-round themed bar is popular with the boating crowd as well as locals. Usually hit it up so my friend's 70 year old mom can perform karaoke. She'll show up in something of the gold lame' variety; fitting in perfectly with the decor as she belts out the tunes.
The fact that it's super tacky in decor only adds to the charm...too bad the same can't be said for the staff. Seriously sometimes the bartenders are just complete jerks. Of course it gets busy there, people love the junk, but a little kindness goes a long way.
