I wish I could rate this place a zero. I usually go the original Terminal Barber Sop on Bay Street. But, the original location closes early on Saturdays so I gave this location a try. Within 5 minutes, the guy (I really can't call him a barber) had managed to cut both of my ears with his clipper. Instead of a proper apology, all I got was "sorry bro, too much hair". I don't understand what this was supposed to mean; maybe there was too much hair for this nincompoop so he decided it was easier to give my ears a cut instead. Also, I didn't then, nor have I ever, felt any kinship towards this guy.
I didn't make a scene while he was still cutting because I didn't want him to make things even worse. But, the only thing that ended up even was the matching cuts to my ears. He took the hairline on my left temple half a centimeter higher than the right and it looks ridiculous. I pointed this out to him when he was done. Instead of an apology or discount he just quoted his price.
On the way out, one of the other guys asked me how it was. I told him it was terrible and in addition to cutting my ears the haircut was uneven. At this point I was slightly worked up. This second guy tried to reassure me that the haircut was fine and also offered to cut my hair himself free of charge the next time I came in. Obviously, at this point I have no intention of going back, besides, he didn't offer a card or even his name to back up this offer.
I checked the back of my ears when I got home. It was a bloody mess with clumps of clotted blood, styptic powder, and hair - the guy didn't even have the courtesy to clean it up a bit.
Extra info: 1) I work in professional services so all I wanted was a simple and professional short side sweep. I showed the guy a picture of myself with the desired hairstyle for reference - he didn't even come close. 2) If you decide to try this place, you may want to stay away from the short, skinny, shabby looking guy.
