Not on the Strip, but not too far away, I like to staycation at the Palms every now and then.
Positives: reasonably priced, a good mix of locals and tourists, a few good spots to eat, and close to Chinatown (tons of restaurants and shopping spots.) Comfy beds, spacious rooms, and beautiful views of both the Strip and the mountains if you get the right room.
Negatives: couldn't get COLD water out of the faucets, furniture in room stained, and trying to call to the front desk is virtually impossible (get looped from operator to operator until you get a voicemail.)
Friendly enough staff, I think the convenience of location and price outweigh the little missteps in the room. I'll surely stay again.
