Booked a car through Expedia & I arranged my pick location at Treasure Island. We got to TI at 4:10pm & I handed Tina (I believe that was her name) my license and credit card and informed her that I have a 4pm reservation to pick a car up. She looked up my reservation and said they don't have any cars unless I want a Van or Corvette and they MIGHT have a car available in 30-45 minutes. Her excuse was that March Madness was in town but that doesn't explain how they overbooked. They close at 5pm so I asked her what would happen if they didn't have a car by 5pm? She said they would still close because they aren't allowed overtime and that they could have a car available at 9am the next morning. Living in Las Vegas I understand that tourists have a lot of things they can do that doesn't require a vehicle but I'm a local leaving the state. I ended up driving to McCarran & everyone there was far more courteous and understanding. We spoke to a manager who honored the rate we booked since the current rate for a new reservation was $200 more. Although they were out of the car we booked we got a free upgrade to a SUV & the problem was resolved quickly. 2 hours later my finally & I are finally on our way to Utah, no thanks to the lady at the desk who didn't offer a solution.
