I recently made a purchase at Zales in the Meadows mall. I have purchased from them before. Therefore, I'm on the Zales mailing list for coupons and sales. I received a mailer from them with an option of $50. Off on a $100. Purchase or 30% off entire purchase. I made a purchase of $500. And the sales associate was so happy to tell with great enthusiasm, she gave me the $50. Off!! I reacted immediately with, " wouldn't 30%be a better deal?" She quickly replied with, "oh no, it wouldn't take it." Huh?! I did not graduate at the top of my clas.. infact I probably rated more twards the middle or to the end... but I have a smart phone! With a calculator! So I put it to use.. without hesitation the phone gave me what I thought. $500.-$50.=$450. Hmmm... then onto more difficult math.. so I askedit, what is 30% of 500. Damn phone went right 150! That means I could have had a Zip $50. Discount or a $150. Discount. She told me $50. Was better..??? I know there's this mew math out there, but simple mat told my wallet that I got RIPPED OFF! ! I should have an extra $100. Left over... I know.. I should have just declined the whole purchase and walked away. I did not, half if not more is my fault. I figured, don't argue with person, she's obviously challenged in certain areas that will never make sense for or to her. Instead, go home, call the corporate office and let them figure out what they believe is necessary to keep a customer. Ha! No matter what time of day it is, it's a 30+ minute wait on the phone everytime you call! Zales should open used car lot... I will never be taken by them again.
