1.) This is a long review so there are two parts. If you want to read the whole thing, please find the second one If customer service is important to you, Dolce Salon & Spa is the last place you want to go. I have had several experiences with Dolce and after giving them chance after chance, they have lost my business forever. (and I promise you, I am a very reasonable person. I don't complain much and I'm not hard to please. I have never written a bad review, which should tell you something about how disappointed I am.) Here were my experiences: I got a $60 gift card to Dolce for my bridal shower (woo hoo!) When my mom and aunt were in town for the wedding I called Dolce to make appointments for us the day before my wedding. They told me "you don't have to make an appointment just come on in!" I come in the day before my wedding and they said "oh we're booked I'm sorry but you need an appointment" "oh, I just called to set one up and they said I could just come in- I understand now that I need an appointment but my wedding is literally tomorrow and I have a gift card, is there anything you can do?" They said no. (seriously? not to mention Dolce was about an hour from my house and my mom and aunt were only going to be there for the weekend, and my wedding being the next day, time was precious!) I got over it. I still had my gift card and so did my sister-in-law so she book appointments for us to go together. She had a 10 month old and when she booked the appointment she SPECIFFICALLY asked and made sure that it was okay to hold her baby while she got her toes done. "that won't be a problem" they said. Well as you might guess, it was a problem. Apparently she wasn't allowed to have the baby in there. So there when a fun afternoon with my sister- I kept my toe appointment, alone, and she went to the mall. (side note, I asked for gel toes and they said I should have said something when booking the apt because they didn't have enough time. So I got polish. That was understandable but you'd think after the two things that already happened they would go the extra mile to let me get the type of pedicure I wanted. Oh well.) I thought that was going to be my last experience with Dolce. But my sister was pretty upset and let management know, they in turn offered us both two free mani's or Pedi's. That was nice, we accepted. This time I booked the appointments because I wanted to make sure there were CLEAR expectations. I specifically asked for gel nails. (wasn't going to make the mistake of not mentioning it again) So I get there, all is fine, I explain to my manicurist that I was getting gel nails (for the first time!) and that I wanted them to be just a little longer than my natural nails. "Oh we can't make them longer, they can only be as long as your real nails" "really? I wish I would have known that, I would have grown my nails out a little before this appointment..." "Yes I'm sorry" a little time went by and honestly I just wasn't convinced, so I brought it up again "That's so strange because I know friends who have gotten gel nails longer than their real nails" "okay..." she looked me in the eye "you technically can get them extended, and I have been a nail artist for a long time, but I am new here, and I cant give you the extended ones until I have gone through the training. Are you kidding me. Not only did she lie about not being able to make them longer, but I couldn't get what I wanted because of the particular nail artist I was put with? (Don't get me wrong though, I did like this lady and she wasn't mean or rude or anything. She did lie, which bothered me, but it all came down to her not being trained yet)
