I travel to Calgary about once a month (ish) and have tried many downtown hotels, but always end up back at the Arts. The staff are friendly and genuine with their interactions (does not seem forced or fake at all) and I appreciate the level of service I receive every time I stay. From valet to front desk to housekeeping, I've always been met with a smile and a pleasant greeting. The rooms are clean and pretty and the beds are very comfortable. I really like the Skoah toiletries and have bought some for home use as well (something I never do.) I think the price for a room downtown is competitive and have stayed in other hotels in the area for far more money with lower quality/outdated rooms. It's conveniently located with lots of food options in and around the property, and also offer a ride service in their Escalade if you need to go somewhere in the core (a blessing if you're heading out in heels.) When I'm in Calgary, the Arts is my go-to.
