Had been here several times before, the food (with the exception of desserts) was never great, but it was okay. Dinner tonight with three friends was very disappointing. I ordered a squash salad with chicken--and it came without the chicken, waitress didn't seem at all apologetic at this wrong order--the squash was tasteless, like it was out of a can, and the lettuce was very tired. No excuse for not using fresh ingredients and preparing dishes with taste--this was a $10 salad, worth about $3. Companions were similarly unenthusiastic about their meat dishes, they ruined a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. I asked for milk with my (tasteless) coffee--it never came. What's surprising is that Market St. is owned by the same people who own Monty's Blue Plate, which has excellent diner food and good service. This place should start caring about the food it prepares, and its customers. Cream pies were the only saving grace.
