I dropped into East of Brunswick to kill a few minutes early in the day once and was pleasantly surprised by this out of the way bar. I think it caught my eye while zooming past on the straightaway on Spadina south of Bloor where it butts Queens Park. There's the ROM on the corner with the Gardiner Museum across the street and stately buildings all around as it is close to U of T. I'm sure they are drawing in the college crowd from the area. Possibly the name came from the fact that there isn't much east of Brunswick for anything like this so why not make a point of the location with the moniker? The atmosphere is one of a sports bar with screens scattered around, and as well shuffleboards inside to get people off the stools and up having fun for an evening. Everything about this bar screams, Chain! I felt like I was in Calgary or somewhere out west. The Cesar shrine at the end of the bar greets you as you walk in which was very impressive. It showcased the different toppings available for this classic western Canadian cocktail. The beers were cold and I'm sure the wings are hot! Lots of room to mill around so bring your group of friends in for a party! Looks like it could be a perfect spot for groups.
