After visiting this place a few weeks ago, I have mixed reviews about this place. Some people hit it on the mark - personally, my visit wasn't exactly welcoming, but I understand that some people have bad days. Yes, the place was stinky and some dogs were covered in their own feces (mostly the puppies) - and while trying to be understanding that there are so many dogs there, it's hard to keep up with them - not that is excusable, but I did find that it was something they definitely need to work on. It's not exactly a palace here, but it isn't terrible, either. I'm not sure if each dog gets the space, exercise and attention they need, but it sure beats other places they could be.
I didn't adopt a dog from this place - got my new fur friend across the street at the AZ Humane Society - but please don't discount this place totally. While they do have room for lots of improvement, I do believe they are trying their best with what resources they have. If I could, I would donate and volunteer here, but for what they are doing, I appreciate that there is a valid effort on their part... just needs some improvement on interacting with people and their cleanliness, but I would still consider them if you are interested in adopting, because these people do try their best.
