Reading the reviews here, I had to put my two cents of reality in. This is NOT a bargain or discount grocery store! Don't let the name fool you. It should be called "Valu Less". Everything (except the meat) is more expensive than you will find elsewhere (other than Sobey's, which is at about par, price-wise). There is a tiny shelf near the bacon with some blow-out stuff, if you want 50 graham pie crusts or sugar-free lemon pie filling.
The store is nice, the aisles are roomy, the cashiers are pleasant, and the clerks are generally helpful. The meat section is the shining star of the store--good quality cuts (they better not lose their butcher) at decent prices. Not a lot of selection but what's there is pretty good.
The price of the produce is over the top, same with the groceries. I live nearby so I shop here only out of convenience, and for meat. I navigate the store and shop according to store specials--the majority of grocery items are priced 20-50% higher than you would find at No Frills or Food Basics, the true "discount" grocery stores.
There is a real lack of grocery stores in the area. I try to shop at NoFrills or FoodBasics after work, and come here only when I'm desperate. At least they put the milk down to a competitive price, it used to be $6 for a bag of milk. Its under $5 now.
I'm giving it 3 stars only because it seems to be imrpoving just slightly with the prices (I.e. the milk). Otherwise I would only give it a 2.
