Horrible. Horrible. I signed up for yelp just to write this review because yelp through google maps is how I was referred to this more local place. So I went to a place near val vista I normally like this morning and asked for them to take off my gel nails. They didn't do the best job-they're not getting paid of course, but later in the day realized they outright skipped a nail entirely and I was able to lift it up. What? So I thought if I just quickly step into another spa and get it off and since it was 4 pm I could even go get a car wash. When I got in, showed the manager my nail, was considering getting a clean up after since the first place was horrible about finishing the job and they've normally been great in the past. This woman put foil on my finger and had me sitting in the narrow waiting area. I watched the bulk of customers come in and get seated. Fine, I thought, they're busy and don't have room for me back there. I waited about 30 minutes before I was like this is way longer than I've ever had to wait for this process. So I turned the corner--there's no one sitting in rows of manicure chairs. So I could have been seated somewhere. The manager is doing the nails of some other girl who's been sitting longer than I'd even been there-and I tell her I need to go and can I get this addressed? Instead of directing me to any of the employees or chairs to wait for an employee she grabs my hand and roughly starts the process-my finger started burning because she was trying to do it fast and sloppily so I have to yank my arm back to stop her. She puts a glue on then and I'm like what is that for? All I want is the gel part removed. Then she says if I want it done right I have to put the foil back on and I'm like well how long because I've been sitting for 30. 10 minutes she says. It's 450 ish now so definitely have wasted close to an hour at the place and my nail is cracked, has bumps, ridges and now random red glue on it. She tries to address it again after 10 minutes in the waiting room and I finally asked for a clean up and said I'd pay if they took care if this. So after close to an hour only the mention of money gets me a desk. Only when I sit down I have no idea who's waiting on me and when she introduces herself she disappears into the back. I'm still waiting. I can't even believe it. I go back to the manager on the other side of the salon and ask why I'm not being helped-no ones there. When I get back over there, she's got an attitude, sheesh I was just getting you water, can't I get water bowl? I just work here-I don't even care. Yeah she said that to me. And I withdrew my hands not even wanting to give this lady my hands. I asked her-are you going to do your best? No. Yes she outright admitted that to me. What? Why not? I say. Because your being rude. So I got up and went to see manager again-your employee said they were not going to do a good job because I'm being rude. Manager says well you are. I have been swearing a lot at being treated so awfully at this point but it took time before I got there. So I say well regardless of how I'm acting you should still be providing good customer service. Over and over I reminded her this was my first time to her business. She told me I could just go home and file my nails myself! Look, that is an option but if I come in for removal I expect the job to be done in the store the right way the first time. I said no, I'm not leaving with my nails looking like this, you started this, it's been an hour, this is ridiculous. She said well this girl has been here an hour too--look I just got gels, I know it doesn't take an hour plus and acrylic shouldn't either. So I said maybe you should go faster. What I was asking for-this is a 10 minute job tops. Id even understand if they were busy and every seat was full. They werent-they were lazy, the store was hardly filled, I can't even say they were understaffed, for 15 minutes while I was waiting in the foyer, one of the guys just paced back and forth around my legs. She went around the corner to ask employees standing there to help me and she said they don't want to help you, they are scared of you. She then turned around and sat down with the girl she was helping. Clearly no one was going to help me on a stupidly simple job so I walked out. It's their loss, their customer base. That was a horrible first impression. If I'd been a secret shopper they'd have gotten an F. Im doing more than avoiding this place-I want to deter everyone I know from coming here because I had that bad of an experience. I would give them no stars if possible.
