First of all, I'm happy to see this corner coming to life! There is a lot of development in this particular intersection which is great. I've been skeptical of this place since I wasn't sure how an enchilada-bar concept would work.
I would HIGHLY recommend viewing the menu online before visiting. The menu is posted very high up and you cannot see it when you are in the ordering line. It's also very hard to hear the servers (likely due to bad acoustic dampening). I think there should be some signs on the glass to help during the ordering process.
I did two enchiladas, flour/corn tortilla, both with the spare rib & asadero cheese. I was really hoping to try the bison, but they only make enough to last until early afternoon. I'm assuming because it's more costly to the restaurant and they don't want to serve it to the dinner rush crowd...booooo. I had mine with red & green sauce. Be sure to ask for the fried egg (extra $1 I believe), as they don't offer it to you when you're ordering. I asked for house-made crema, slaw, cotija cheese, pico, and pickled onions. Also ordered a side of chips & guac, and a cold Tecate :)
My meal was delicious. The chips were house-made and fantastic. The tortilla in the enchilada was amazing and the meat was perfect.
I will be going back and also bringing friends! Recommendations to the restaurant would be to get a hold of the noise issue between the ordering line & servers, and perhaps add some signs on the glass to aid customers while ordering. 1 star off for the ordering process.
