TL:DR: overpriced, and ultra 'salesy,
To be fair, i should've known from our phone chat that Dr. Mundt was Saleswoman. Her vibe/ tone of voice from our phone call and in person consult can only be described as a super sugary sweet version of Sal Goodman from Breaking Bad living in a Ron Howard movie.
From the jump on our phone call, I gave her the dimensions in square inches of the 1/2 sleeve I was looking to have lightened. Asked her multiple times to ballpark what 1 initial treatment would cost. She beat around the bush at every opportunity. Even refusing to answer, "What's the most you've ever charged a patient for one session?"
I know there are many factors that go into a price assessment for a removal session. However, at the end of the day, if your price point is significantly higher than what everyone else is charging (in this case 3x), you should disclose that to patients that are looking to get multiple sessions over a large area, as early as possible so you don't waste everyone's time.
Instead... what she did was the opposite. Refused to give me the faintest sort of prices metrics or ballparks until I came in for an evaluation. Had me fill out 15+ pages of paperwork when i did come in. Then, in our meeting, brought in a new hire to train off our interaction (without even asking me if I was cool with it). Took out her sheet of paper to evaluate me. Literally maxed out every field on the form so she could justify her pitch/ way overblown price tag (which if i wanted to have the tattoo completely removed amounted to over $7,000.00).
In the end, she wanted THREE TIMES WHAT I ENDED UP PAYING for a better laser from elsewhere.
On a personal note: the interior decorating budget of their office needs a serious audit. It 100% reminds me of that plastic surgery show 'Nip Tuck'. Ostentatious, unnecessary, and borderline insulting to customers who aren't just throwing their funds casually into the wind. I'm guessing the main demographic patronizing this business are Scottsdale trophy wives that are impressed with these types of aesthetics. The type of person that doesn't care about overpaying for services with their husband's money. Otherwise, there's no way to justify inflating your profit margins in order to have the establishment look like something out of a 24th century spaceship.
