It started out good, but sadly the main course failed to deliver. We came to Culinary Dropout after a super long day driving to and from the Grand Canyon and we wanted food that was convenient. It's literally an elevator ride away from our room on the upper floor of the Hardrock Hotel. Loved the super spacious layout of the interior. Great for groups and it opens out into a patio area near the pool. Great for the lovely summer weather. We came on a Thursdays night around 10pm (they close at 11pm) and the restaurant was fairly empty. Service was attentive and they happily made recommendations. We ordered: *Pretzels and provolone fondue: Good! I was a little hesitant at first but the whole combination was delicious. Also, the pretzels weren't overly salted but buttery, which was great. Fondue was a great consistency too. *Pork belly toast: Good but the open face baguette the pork belly was on was a little soggy. The flavors were fresh and reminded me of a Vietnamese banh mi sandwich. The pork belly was flavored so well, and was cooked so that it was crisp. *27 hour pork ribs: Lackluster, except for the fries. The pork ribs were cooked decently, but the molasses sauce was a little too tangy. The coleslaw was really bad. It didn't taste like anything at all. I rather have a side salad raw. The cool thing was that they split it for us because they knew we were sharing. *Bourbon black bottom pie: Great! Chocolate ganache and graham cracker crust. Soooo good. The bourbon flavor was actually pretty strong. We got it for free was a birthday treat. Yay! SIDE NOTE: Culinary Dropout allows their servers to wear anything that they want, this include jewelry and facial piercings. While our server was talking to us, his lip ring fell onto the floor and we never found it. While it wasn't a big deal to us (although I found it hilarious), I'd imagine a worse situation in which it could have fell into a drink or food. Sooo...just keep this in mind. =P
