This place is scary. It's a nice building, but the staffing levels just aren't adequate, and the staff don't seem to want to take responsibility for patient care.
My mom was on hospice care here, and was so weak she was having trouble eating and drinking. She was terribly thirsty whenever we'd visit (water next to her bed, but no one to help her drink it), and the food served was ridiculous - everyone got the same thing, regardless of their condition. She hadn't been able to eat solid food in days, but was served meatballs for lunch at Heights. We asked for yogurt for her, and after she took a bite, the half-full container (along with various water and juice cups) sat on her nightstand for more than 24 hours. We'd go and sit in her room for hours to keep her company. It was typical for no one to bother going in there for 5 hours. I asked a CNA how often they check on their patients, and her response was that if my mom wanted help, she needed to use the call button! That only works for someone healthy enough to push a button. Ridiculous. She didn't get bathed or cleaned in three days - we ended up doing the spongebath ourselves.
My biggest concern is that the staff just don't check on the patients all that much. I found her half out of her bed a couple of times when I went there - other times she had taken off her nightgown and was uncovered.
