I was terrified when we read the review for this show AFTER (yes bad idea) we bought our non-refundable no exchanges tickets. But let me tell you the fear quickly subsided once we got inside. First off the seats were a bloody steal, right now they are running a buy one get one for 30 deal (Section A seats excluded however Section B was the second row of seats so it was essentially the same section). This was my first Cirque show but definitely not my last. I will admit that after seeing Absinthe the night previous I would have to go with Absinthe for more impressive stunts as far as quantity vs quality goes; but Zarkana was different, while both shows tell a story this Cirque show goes deeper. Perhaps I find meaning where there is none but the theme I thought was interesting. My girlfriend has seen other Cirque shows and says that Zarkana would be a good beginner show and that the others are better. I enjoyed the live band, costumes, and clowns that interacted with the crowd prior to the show. The seats were very comfortable and the ticket prices were awesome. They let you take drinks inside which will save you some money. Overall a good show for the price and a great introduction show to the Cirque world that I will continue to venture into. Cons would be the time between set changes however you have to realize that this is a huge show with intricate displays that obviously require some time to set up but luckily they have the clowns to distract you while the set changes in the background which brings me to the next con; the clowns were entertaining yes however I feel that some of their "mini acts" need some work. Lastly while the performers were truly spectacular, I feel that there was too much time spent waiting for them to perform the trick; I know that this is dangerous stuff but Absinthe seemed to be hammering the stunts out left and right. Some people complain that there was too much going on, while I liked this I feel that there wasn't enough going on where it mattered. All that being said it wasn't enough to keep me from giving this show 5/5. Keep in mind however it was my first Cirque show.
