Let's be really clear to start this off -- I am not naturally or a practiced yogi. Before hitting up Soul Hot Yoga, my yoga practice consisted of an intense 90 minute Bikram class and a few home workouts with Jillian Michael's Yoga Meltdown. One of my goals is to complete a 30 day yoga challenge. And so here I am.
Let's start with the introductory $40, one month, unlimited yoga that Soul offers. This was the enticement I needed. $40, 30 classes means $1.33 a class. I was able to sign up for that online and start scheduling my classes. Simply showing my ID when I showed up for the first class scored me a handy swipe card to check in with quickly.
The classes offered are varied, which is great as 30 days can be an eon. I have tried almost all of the classes Soul offers and they are tailored for every single person in that room depending on where you are at. Plus, if you have a different instructor for the same class, you still get a different experience. My favorites are Hot Hatha with Alexa, Warm Explore as I learn the poses, Restorative for those nights I just want to relax. I pushed myself with the Hot Core class. 2 days later I still felt the soreness. Candace and Jamie M have the best taste in music which is why I enjoy their classes.
The ambiance is lovely, the decor has the perfect little touches in all corners, and tea is provided in the waiting room.
And the best part of my experience? During Savasana, a magic yoga fairy brings frozen lemon grass wash cloths for your face. It makes the 75 minutes worth it.
