I have been a Fresh Market fan for years, particularly for the one on Pineville-Matthews Rd at Carmel Commons, but I find this one lacking in charm, atmosphere and customer service. It's more like a small, overpriced Harris Teeter instead of The Fresh Market that I have learned to love. After going a couple times I have lost interest.
It does have a good meat department, which as a former butcher, I appreciate, but again it offers nothing a whole lot more than Harris Teeter or Publix. These days if I want to really splurge on meats, I'll go to The Butcher's Market at Rea Road. I'll pass on this locarion going forward, and whenever I get the hankering for the old days, I'll visit The Fresh Market at Carmel Commons Shopping Center..
