Ah, the DMV. So many compliments about things that can and can't be helped. I, for one, did my research before heading over to this little hole in the wall (like all DMV's) and didn't have a lick of trouble with my paperwork. Other then the camera being down statewide. Which kinda sucked because I was renewing my licenses, but they kindly informed me that I could do part of what I needed to do, and then I could come back later, or another day to get my photo taken. Mrs. Underwood was even nice enough to give me the DMV number to call and ask if the camera was back up or not. I came in a little after 1pm, and I was just before a rush. If you really do your research on what you need before you go in, it's actually painless.
